Deputy Minister of Petroleum and Managing Director of National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), Ali Kardor, says production and development are the pillar and main target of the NIOC activities.
Addressing ceremony to bid farewell to former managing director of the Iran Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) and introduce the new chief of the company, Kardor said the Company is one of the main assets of the NIOC and protection of such national asset is necessary.
“There are many assets in the IOOC, most importantly the human resources, which should be protected in the best possible manner,” he said.
The official said just one phase of South Pars affects 1.5 to two percent of the Gross National Production (GNP), while lots of works should be done in other economic sectors.
Meanwhile, former managing director of the IOOC Saeed Hafezi said when he was in office, his company was active and continued production despite sanctions and financial restrictions.
He said among measures taken those years were using joint Salam oil field in domestic network, operation of Persian Gulf storage vessel and preventing daily burning of 25 million cubic feet of gas in Abuzar field and its dispatch to the petrochemical facility.
Hafezi said reconstruction of the ageing and worn-out facilities are among mandates ahead.
He added that overhauling and resistance making of the platforms and storage tanks of the IOOC needs about three billion dollars in capital for which a comprehensive package has been designed.
